THE DOLPHIN ASSISTED THERAPY PROGRAM DESCRIPTION.

The Partenit resortState OceanariumThe program is located in Sevastopol, Ukraine. "State Oceanarium" Research Center located at the territory of the State Nature Reserve "Feolent Cape and Kazachya Bay".

During the last 35 years of extensive work a lot of experience has been accumulated. Now these results are available for the Dolphin Assisted Therapy program participants.

The treatment session

 

Each treatment session includes:


1. Meetings with the doctor.
2. Health assessments via computer diagnostics and further control of the patient through out the therapy.
3. Guaranteed dolphin interaction during each session through direct physical contact with a specially trained dolphin.
4. Relaxation therapy.
5. Overall final assessment and future recommendations for daily life style to improve current conditions.


 
Effects of the dolphin therapy sessions on the children suffering from phobia syndrome: The investigation has shown that in 88.2 ± 4.5 % of the cases (the effect is confident: Peff<0.01) in the treatment group the clinical indices were improved, which became apparent in decrease of children's fear and anxiety reactions and in increase of social involvement. 9.8 ± 0.7 % of the cases (Peff<0.05) showed partial improvement with decreasing in effective charge of behavior and appearing of the positive emotions. The remote results of the dolphin therapy detected stable remission in 67.2 ± 1.5 % of cases (Peff<0.01). Patients stopped suffering from darkness phobia and animal phobia in 100.0 ±0.1 % of cases (Peff<0.001). Night sleep of all patients improved and became longer and quieter. There were no positive results in the control group.
